This psalm of pure praise was perfect for me today! How often do you wake up just happy? There isn't an explainable reason except God is good and you are happy. Well this morning was one of those mornings for me and I was is a praise place as I woke and prayed and this psalm fit right in:
1 Come, everyone! Clap your hands!
Shout to God with joyful praise!
2 For the Lord Most High is awesome.
He is the great King of all the earth.
3 He subdues the nations before us,
putting our enemies beneath our feet.
4 He chose the Promised Land as our inheritance,
the proud possession of Jacob’s descendants, whom he loves.
Interlude
5 God has ascended with a mighty shout.
The Lord has ascended with trumpets blaring.
6 Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our King, sing praises!
7 For God is the King over all the earth.
Praise him with a psalm!
8 God reigns above the nations,
sitting on his holy throne.
9 The rulers of the world have gathered together
with the people of the God of Abraham.
For all the kings of the earth belong to God.
He is highly honored everywhere.
I suppose if you didn't wake up in that place, this would also be a good psalm to help you redirect your focus for the morning.
I was watching a movie yesterday afternoon and in it, one of the characters said, "...success is waking up in the morning excited about what you have to do that day..." I think that praising God and knowing that you are in relationship with God and that God has good plans for you can give you that excitement...and I would add that success in have a good relationship with God.
With God by your side, everything is possible and you can achieve all that God has planned for you. Praise God each morning and find that place of excitement!
